Fantasy football projections, Week 9: Ravens vs. Browns featuring Josh Gordon, Ray Rice, Joe Flacco

We take a look at some fantasy football projections for the Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns matchup.

The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Cleveland Browns in an important AFC North matchup on Sunday. Baltimore is 3-4 and coming off a loss, but it has had a bye week to rest up and prepare for Cleveland. The Browns are 3-5 and are also coming off a loss, as they dropped a competitive game against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8.

Both teams figure to have some solid fantasy options this week. We’re here to provide you some guidance, with the help of numberFire and their excellent predictions. We’ll start with the Ravens below:

Ravens

The Ravens have the No. 12 passing offense in the league, and that's why quarterback Joe Flacco is projected to earn the highest amount of points for the Ravens. He's coming in at just over 15 projected points, which would be a decent game from him. His top receiver, Torrey Smith, comes in at No. 3 with 10.53 projected fantasy points.

In second is running back Ray Rice, with 10.63 projected points. They expect him to earn just over 60 rushing yards with close to 30 added in through the air. Rice has struggled mightily this season, with the Ravens as a whole averaging just 74.0 rushing yards per game. He's been a big fantasy disappointment, to say the least.

The next wide receiver comes after kicker Justin Tucker, so there's not much significance there. That player is Jacoby Jones, who is projected at under five points for the game.

Browns

The Browns have been much better than expected this season, but they aren't heavy on fantasy options. The team is going with quarterback Jason Campbell in place of Brandon Weeden, which is definitely good news for fantasy owners. Campbell is just better, and has more potential to throw touchdowns. He's projected at 11.53 points.

But he's not the top projection for Cleveland. That's wide receiver Josh Gordon, who picks up his yardage in huge chunks and has a knack for finding the end zone. The Browns elected to hold on to him rather than trade, and if they have one bright spot going forward, it should be him. He's projected to earn just under 12 fantasy points this week.

There's no running back sighting until way down the list with Willis McGahee, who is projected at 5.52 fantasy points. The No. 3 pick is tight end Jordan Cameron, who has been a nice surprise this season. He comes in at 8.11 fantasy points, just above kicker Billy Cundiff at 7.69.
