Fantasy football projections, Week 9: Bears vs. Packers featuring Matt Forte, Aaron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy

We break down the Week 9 matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers.

The Week 9 matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers will have its share of offensive output. We have all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Chicago Bears

Josh McCown will make his first start of the season when he lines up under center for the Bears at Lambeau Field. McCown replaced starter Jay Cutler (torn groin) in the team's Week 7 loss to the Washington Redskins. Surprisingly, the Bears backup kept his team in the game, completing 14 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown in the four-point loss. The Packers aren't known for their pass defense, so McCown could prove to be a sneaky bye week starter in fantasy leagues for Week 9.

In order to make the offense click, there's now doubt McCown and the gang will be looking to running back Matt Forte to act as the catalyst on the ground. Forte had one of his best games of the season against the Redskins, rushing for 91 yards and three touchdowns. Back in December of last year, Forte managed 133 total yards against the Packers. He should be a good bet for a solid effort in Week 9.

Green Bay Packers

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Jordy Nelson displayed quite the show of dominance against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. Rodgers threw two touchdown passes, both of which went to Nelson. Rodgers finished with 285 yards passing and did most of his damage in the first half as the Packers were able to build a big lead by the time the fourth quarter rolled around. That only worked to the benefit of the running game, as Eddie Lacy got to run out the clock toward the end of the game.

Of all the rookie running backs to come out of the 2013 NFL draft, Lacy appears to have the most promise. He's averaged just over 74 yards per game this season and managed to find the end zone for his fantasy owners in back-to-back games. He should get plenty of touches against the Bears and if Chicago's offense struggles to move the ball, Lacy could find himself running out the clock again.
