Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had his second multi-interception game of the season Sunday, throwing two picks. Those were the lone dark spots in a game the Panthers won over the Atlanta Falcons, 34-10.
Cam Newton’s 2 interceptions mar otherwise strong fantasy day
The Panthers quarterback scored once with a pass and once with a run. We break down the fantasy implications.

Newton threw for a touchdown in the second quarter, on a 14-yard pass to tight end Greg Olsen, and ran for an 8-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. His 249 passing yards were his second-highest total on the season.
Fantasy impact: Without many passing yards or any more scores, Newton really needed to avoid the interceptions for his fantasy owners to be truly excited about the game he had Sunday. That said, he still scored 17 fantasy points, a not-embarrassing total for a quarterback that has averaged just under 19 points a game on the season.
With the Panthers having games against the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots in the next two weeks, Newton might have a tough go of it. In the long run though, he looks like the stud quarterback fantasy players drafted highly this season.
