Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez managed only one catch for four yards in the second half of Sunday's game, but that came on the heels of a first half that included 77 receiving yards and a score. Gonzalez' performance came in the Falcons' 34-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Tony Gonzalez gives fantasy owners first touchdown in more than a month
The veteran tight end didn’t do much in the second half, but his big first half kept him respectable on the day. We break down the fantasy implications.

The tight end’s touchdown came just after the two-minute warning in the first-half, on a 17-yard pass from quarterback Matt Ryan. He was effectively shut down after that.
Fantasy impact: Gonzalez had had a quiet last two games, catching five passes combined for 56 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals. Sunday's touchdown was the veteran's first since late September against the New England Patriots, when he went for 149 yards and two scores.
One way or another, Gonzalez is still an obvious TE1, as he’s one of the few weapons the Falcons have left. He’ll be a fine play going forward.
