Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had his season-best yardage Sunday, showing no ill effects from a hamstring injury. He added a ridiculous touchdown run as the Vikings lost to the Dallas Cowboys, 27-23.
Adrian Peterson gives fantasy owners best yardage day of the season
The Vikings running back had 140 rushing yards Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Peterson had 140 rushing yards on 25 carries, adding 37 receiving yards on three receptions. After being stifled in three straight games (with 36 total carries in that time) Peterson’s 177 all-purpose yards were his most of the season. His touchdown run, an 11-yard score in the fourth quarter that put the Vikings ahead 23-20, was a ridiculous run that few tailbacks could have managed.
Fantasy impact: This is the Peterson the Vikings should have been running out there the last few weeks, with abysmal quarterback play that seemed to be screaming for reliance on a star running back. Whether bad play-calling or hamstring impairment, something was keeping Peterson from being Peterson the last few weeks, so fantasy owners have to breathe easy seeing him back doing what he does this week.
Peterson, fantasy's consensus No. 1 entering the season, is not in a logjam for the top spot with guys like Jamaal Charles and LeSean McCoy. That said, he's still unquestionably in the top tier, and he's a heck of a fun player to own.
