Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta (hip) is close to returning, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley. Pitta has yet to appear in a game so far this year.
Dennis Pitta close to returning, fantasy outlook average at best
The Ravens might have their number one tight end back before the end of November. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: He had surgery back in July and the Ravens always knew that he would be out quite a while. The Ravens have struggled this year to reclaim the glory of their Super Bowl win from last season.
Part of that has to do with inconsistencies in their running game and inconsistent play from quarterback Joe Flacco. It's not all Flacco's fault though. It took a while for rookie receiver Marlon Brown to emerge as his number two option next to Torrey Smith, who hasn't been as good as the Ravens had hoped when they traded Anquan Bolden to the San Francisco 49ers in the off-season.
That said, Brown and teammate Jacoby Jones are both playing regularly now, so Pitta would be the third or fourth option at best in the Ravens offense.
It would probably also take Pitta a few weeks to get used to playing again, so even when he comes back, he may not be a viable fantasy option down the stretch.
