Minnesota Vikings receiver Jerome Simpson gets a short week as his team welcomes the Washington Redskins for Thursday Night Football.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 10: Jerome Simpson
The Vikings aren’t exactly an enigma on offense, so there’s not a lot of expectations outside of Adrian Peterson. They do have a nice matchup this week against the Skins, though. Should fantasy owners flip on their decisions to bench Jerome Simpson?

After a 140-yard Week 1, Simpson has turned into a ghost in the NFL landscape. He only has one game in which he's totaled more than 50 receiving yards or four receptions, and that came way back on Sept. 29 against the Steelers. Things have been worse in the past two weeks, with Simpson totaling just three catches for 42 yards in his last two games combined.
The matchup is actually decent for Simpson. He'll likely see a lot of cornerback Josh Wilson, a guy who has been burnt deep for much of the season. Wilson and the Skins' secondary was on pace to be one of the worst in league history based on passer rating allowed and yard-per-attempt allowed. They were at a whopping 9.7 YPA earlier this year, but that's dropped to 8.3, which is still pretty bad.
Fantasy impact: Sure, it's a nice matchup, but there just isn't enough to like here. Christian Ponder can't hit guys down the field and that's where Simpson's value lies.
