Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has been ruled out for the team's Week 10 game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to Tania Ganguli of ESPN. Foster has a back injury which he sustained in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The team had a bye week following that game, and Foster attempted to play against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9.

Foster didn’t make it past the first series in that game. The back injury is apparently more serious than we previously thought. Foster is reportedly seeing multiple back experts and could end up requiring surgery to fix the injury, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. Foster would likely miss the remainder of the season if he had surgery.
It's a big loss for the Texans in the meantime, either way. He has carried the ball 121 times for 542 yards and a touchdown this season, good for a per-carry average of 4.5 yards. Fortunately, the Texans have a competent backup in Ben Tate, who has carried the ball 88 times for 399 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners have to be worried at this point. Missing a single game is bad news, but if the team loses Foster for any extended amount of time, it would be huge. If said fantasy owners have been listening however, we’ve recommended Tate as the top fantasy handcuff all season, and he should be productive in Foster’s wake. Rookie Dennis Johnson will take the backup carries.
