Minnesota Vikings running back Matt Asiata scored three touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, finishing with 30 carries for 51 rushing yards with three receptions for 15 yards. The three rushing TDs tied a franchise record and the Vikings won the game 48-30 in their best offensive showing.

The Vikings were without both Adrian Peterson (ankle) and Toby Gerhart (hamstring) today, so it was all on Asiata to give them a ground game. He received all of the carries at running back and was in a featured role. Before today, he had just three carries for nine yards in the running game to go with one reception for two yards.
The Eagles defense had been spectacular leading into this game. They had the longest streak of not allowing more than 21 points in game, accomplishing the feat an astonishing nine times. Today was also the first time they allowed two rushing TDs to one running back all year, so this completely came out of nowhere.
Fantasy impact: This was great and anyone those started him should give themselves a big pat on the back. However, the bad news is that this is very unlikely to happen again. Peterson and Gerhart weren’t ruled out until Sunday morning, so there’s a good chance they will be ready for Week 16. Asiata can remain on the wire in most leagues.
