Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, Hakeem Nicks can’t even combine for good fantasy day

The New York Giants struggled in all facets of football on Sunday, and the team's wide receivers were no exception. Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks and Rueben Randle were all basically shut down in the team's 23-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Three catches for 30 yards would have been a bad game for any one of the three receivers. Unfortunately, it was their combined total. Cruz caught two passes for 25 yards, Nicks caught one for five and Randle was held without a catch in the game. In fact the most successful Giants receiver was little-used third-year receiver Jerrel Jernigan, who had seven catches for 67 yards after having only 92 receiving yards all season entering Sunday.

Fantasy impact: It can't stay this bad for the Giants, who get to face the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins after facing the stout defense of the Seahawks Sunday. Still, in New York's last four games -- the last 12 receiver-games -- the three big names of Cruz, Nicks, and Randle have combined for only one double-digit fantasy day and no touchdowns. It's been a bad road for all three, and an even worse one for anyone relying on them in the playoffs.
