Houston Texans running back Ben Tate (ribs) has been placed on season-ending injured reserve, according to a report by ESPN's Josina Anderson. Tate has played through the injury for the better part of the last two months.
Ben Tate placed on injured reserve, fantasy season over
The Texans running back will sit out the team’s final two games. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: At this point in the season, the Texans are evaluating talent for next year. There is nothing at stake in Houston these days. The move is a bit of a surprise considering Tate has played through his ailment for so long, but it does make logical sense to sit him and avoid further injury.
With Arian Foster also finished for the rest of the year, the Texans backfield will boast the likes of Dennis Johnson and Deji Karim.
Although neither of the two younger backs has much NFL experience, they could be in for some nice fantasy stats against the Broncos. Denver doesn't exactly worry about stopping the run as much as other teams.
Fantasy owners who feel the need to gamble or grab someone in place of Tate should go with Johnson first, as he’s likely going to get more touches than Karim.
