Morris did have a touchdown though, and added three receptions for 27 yards to help his stats. But at the end of the day, only 11 carries is essentially far too few. Morris’ touchdown came in the first quarter, and put Washington up 7-0. The Redskins eventually took a 14-0 lead, but squandered it and eventually fell, 24-217.
Quarterback Robert Griffin III actually carried the ball 12 times, and managed to put up 88 yards on the ground, good for a per-carry average of 7.3 yards. Morris was essentially invisible in the second half.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners expect more of Morris, whose 26 yards marks the lowest total of his career. The Redskins generally expect more as well, but they gave him little opportunity to succeed against the struggling Giants. Morris has 206 carries fro 996 yards and six touchdowns on the season, good for 4.8 yards per carry on average. This one was a definite miss, but Morris remains one of the top backs in the league and sits just four yards away from hitting the 1,000-yard mark.
