Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: Shane Vereen makes for a solid start
Shane Vereen had a bad Week 15. Should his owners expect him to bounce back against the Ravens?

It's never easy to swallow a letdown from a guy who had a lot of hype. Well, that's what Shane Vereen owners will have to do. The all-purpose back carried the ball just twice for 13 rushing yards last week to go with three receptions for eight yards.
Considering his 153 receiving yards back in Week 14, there might not have been a more disappointing player for fantasy owners. Instead of using Vereen, quarterback Tom Brady hit receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola a combined 23 times for 270 yards in a loss to the Dolphins.
As for the ground game, LeGarrette Blount was the main guy for them with his 11 carries for 47 yards. Stevan Ridley was used a bit more with his eight carries for 34 yards. Both the air and ground game should be different this week.
Fantasy impact: The Patriots get the worst possible matchup for running backs in Week 16 when they'll take on the Baltimore Ravens. They have only allowed four rushing TDs all season and have allowed over 100 rushing yards to running backs just three times. That can be viewed as a positive for Vereen since they will likely use him in the screen game to help alleviate some of the blitzes they might see. Vereen is a low-end RB1 in PPR and a solid RB2 in standards.
