Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: C.J. Spiller still a risky play
C.J. Spiller went in the top five in most fantasy drafts, but he might not be a top-five back on an individual fantasy roster. Should he be started against the Dolphins?
The Buffalo Bills haven't really been much of a ground-and-pound offense. Surprisingly, they have trusted E.J. Manuel a little more as the season has progressed, plus Fred Jackson still seems to be an important piece in their passing attack.
In the preseason, the Bills said they were going to give C.J. Spiller the ball until he throws up, and the 2,000-yard number was being thrown around. Well, here we are in Week 16 and he's sitting at just 745 rushing yards and 131 receiving yards despite missing only one game due to injury.
Spiller had one good week in his last five outings with a 157-yard game in Week 13. His other four games were good for averages of 39.5 yards from scrimmage and no touchdowns.
The Bills don't get a good matchup this week against the Miami Dolphins, who just shut down the Patriots defense and seem to be playing their best ball. Plus, the Bills are going to start Thad Lewis and could have a tough time moving the ball.
Fantasy impact: It’s not going to be easy to play Spiller this week. He’s a low-end flex at best, and his owners should be looking elsewhere.
