New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount was surprisingly effective in the team's Week 16 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
LeGarrette Blount a surprise fantasy football star in Week 16 win over Ravens
The least likely of New England’s running backs was a fantasy star in Week 16.

With the Patriots leading early and often in the 41-7 victory, Blount received a healthy workload. He rushed 16 times for 76 yards and two touchdowns in the game, pacing all Patriots running backs in carries and yards in the process.
Fantasy spin: Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen fantasy owners have to be frustrated by Blount's emergence, especially since it came as most fantasy football leagues were playing the championship in Week 16.
Blount may not have a ton of long-term fantasy football value, but he could be an important piece to a Patriots playoff run. He was effective down near the goal line and considering how much Ridley has tested Bill Belichick’s trust this season, Blount could get even more carries going forward.
