The San Francisco 49ers stuck to another run-heavy game plan on Monday night, and Frank Gore was a big reason why they could do so.
Frank Gore totals over 100 yards, scores touchdown for fantasy owners on MNF
The 49ers’ feature back capitalized versus a porous Falcons run defense on Monday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gore ripped off consistent chunks of yardage versus the Falcons, but the end zone eluded him early despite that. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick logged the first rushing touchdown for the 49ers, scoring on a designed keeper from four yards out while utilizing Gore as a lead blocker. Gore eventually found pay dirt after a being set up by a long Kendall Hunter run to pad his scoring totals. The Niners' feature back finished with 97 yards on 21 carries and the touchdown, and also chipped in with one catch for 6 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Gore faces the toughest matchup for running backs in Week 17 versus the Arizona Cardinals. Entering Week 16, the Cardinals averaged the fewest fantasy points allowed to running backs by a wide margin, and held Marshawn Lynch to 3.9 yards per carry and kept him out of the end zone in their most recent matchup. For fantasy owners maximizing their seasons, Gore is a boom-or-bust RB2 against the only team in the NFL to allow fewer than 1,000 rushing yards to opposing running backs.
