Update: Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy announced Rodgers would start in the team’s post-practice Thursday press conference. Assuming nothing changes between now and Sunday, Rodgers is a must-start.
Aaron Rodgers practices with first team, should play; fantasy owners should use him
The quarterback hasn’t played since Week 9, but there have been a few signs he might be back for Sunday’s game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was active in team practice today, taking the first rep during all the drills in the open part of practice, according to ESPN NFL Nation reporter Rob Demovsky. Rodgers has been out since Week 9 with a broken collarbone.
In eight games and change this season, Rodgers has 2,218 passing yards and 15 touchdowns against only four interceptions. The three quarterbacks who have replaced him -- Seneca Wallace, Scott Tolzien, and Matt Flynn -- have combined for 2,002 yards, eight touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. With the season on the line Sunday -- beat the Chicago Bears and the Packers make the playoffs; lose and the season's over -- the Packers and fantasy owners are very eager for his potential return.
Fantasy impact: The media didn’t get to see the 11-on-11 portion of Thursday’s practice, and an update on Rodgers’ status is expected later on Thursday, so a concrete determination on Rodgers’ status isn’t yet known, but these are the best signs about Rodgers that have been out there in weeks. If Rodgers is on the field, fantasy owners are definitely going to be using him, even with the possibility of rust, so stay tuned for updates later Thursday.
