Rice played and started that game, but he did not perform well. He carried the ball 11 times for 40 yards and caught two passes for 23 yards. It was not a total loss, but he failed to find the end zone and the Patriots dominated that game, winning 41-7.
All in all, it’s been a down year for Rice. He’s had over 100 yards in just one game this season, and has just 645 yards off of 208 carries (3.1 yards per carry). Rice has just four touchdowns on the season.
Fantasy Impact: Rice doesn’t deserve the confidence of fantasy owners, but he seems likely to play, for what that’s worth. Rice wants to show everyone that he’s not as bad as this year would seem to indicate, so perhaps he goes out and roasts the Bengals to the tune of 100-plus yards. Or perhaps he’ll average 1.7 yards per carry, like the first time these two teams met this season.
