Every year there are some NFL players to get some extra rest in Week 17, and one of them will be Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles this year. The Chiefs are locked into their fifth seed and have absolutely nothing to play for against the San Diego Chargers. Head coach Andy Reid said he's open to the idea of sitting his starters, which is coach speak for "we are not playing our starters."
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 17: Jamaal Charles is too risky to use
Jamaal Charles is going to get some rest on Sunday. Should fantasy owners roll with him anyway?

Fantasy impact: Charles has been the top back in almost all fantasy formats, so this news stings badly for owners in one-week fantasy finals. He might play one series or might not even play at all. His owners should be benching him in almost any format, regardless of depth. Knile Davis could actually have a nice game against the Chargers and their suspect defense. Plus, he's an even better option for leagues that count return yards. Davis is more of a flex play, and owners of Charles can think about cutting him in almost all formats. He'll be in the mix for the top pick in fantasy leagues next year, though.
