New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen suffered an injury in Week 16 and missed some practice time this week. He is dealing with a groin strain and the Patriots have him listed as questionable. Considering how often Vereen is injured, it doesn't feel like he will be in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Bills, and that's too bad.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 17: Shane Vereen is a little banged up
Shane Vereen is banged up heading into the Week 17 finale. Should fantasy owners take a chance and put him in their lineups?

He lit up the Bills back in Week 1 to the tune of 101 rushing yards and seven receptions for 58 receiving yards. Vereen also has three scores over his last four games and has been a key part of the Patriots offense.
Fantasy impact: If the Patriots were in control of their own destiny, they might be more apt to put Vereen out there. However, the Denver Broncos have to lose, so the risk of playing their oft-injured back might outweigh the reward. Plus, it's the Buffalo Bills. Fantasy owners should be looking for other options. If Vereen is inactive, LeGarrette Blount is probably the best bet for production in standard leagues.
