It's been a season to forget for the New York Giants, as well as just about all of their players on the rosters of fantasy owners. But there are a few bright spots to take away from a lost season, and one of those will be on display in Week 17 versus the Washington Redskins.

The Giants are getting production in the receiving game despite Victor Cruz’s injury, and Jerrel Jernigan is a big reason why. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jerrel Jernigan will start his second straight game in the absence of Victor Cruz manning his usual slot duties. Jernigan earned his spot in that role out of team necessity, but has done everything to keep it. Versus the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions, the Giants' new slot man had 13 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Spin: In a meaningless Week 17 game versus a woeful Redskins defense, the shifty Jernigan ought to have plenty of room to make plays. No team has allowed more than the 8.2 yards per pass attempt that the Redskins have, and Eli Manning has developed a rapport with his new starting receiver.
Manning has targeted Jernigan a team-high 20 times over the past two games, including a dozen in Week 16. Should that trend continue, Jernigan could approach WR2 totals in a plus matchup, and owners in need of a plug and play at the position could do much worse.
