Fantasy football projections, Week 17: Texans vs. Titans featuring Andre Johnson, Shonn Greene and Nate Washington

We break down the Week 17 matchup between the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Week 17 contest between the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans features two teams evaluating talent for next season. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Houston Texans

Wide receiver Andre Johnson has been held in check fantasy-wise the last two weeks. He can go cold on occasion, but he has to be regarded as one of the most consistent fantasy receivers in recent memory. He will be up against a solid Titans secondary this week and may not play the full game since the Texans are looking toward next year. Fantasy owners can still start him, but his production may be capped as a result.

It doesn't look like another Johnson will be available this week. Running back Dennis Johnson (hip) is listed as doubtful for Week 17. That leaves relative unknown Jonathan Grimes to carry the ball for the Texans this week. Grimes has five carries for 23 yards in his lone appearance of the season against the Denver Broncos last week. He could be a super sleeper in the fantasy finale this week given that Sunday's game is meaningless for both teams.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans, like the Texans, don't have much to play for in Week 17. That means this week could be a big one for running back Shonn Greene. He got 19 carries last week. That's almost double his previous season high of 10 carries. He'll get the ball a lot against the Texans but at the same time, he's yet to post a single 100-yard game this season. Greene's fantasy value lies in scoring touchdowns, and he's got three in the last three weeks. That makes him worth a look for your fantasy finale.

Greene and teammate Chris Johnson will get some support from receiver Nate Washington against the Texans. Washington posted just his third 100-yard game last week and he's got 13 combined catches in the last two games. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick seems to be targeting him more than teammate Kendall Wright of late so he might be a good player to insert into your starting lineup this week.
