Fantasy football projections, Week 14: Chiefs vs. Redskins featuring Alex Smith, Jamaal Charles and Pierre Garcon

The Week 14 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Redskins could turn out to be a lopsided affair. We have all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Washington Redskins secondary isn’t exactly the most feared. That makes quarterback Alex Smith an intriguing fantasy start as the playoffs begin this week for most owners. Smith is not necessarily regarded as a top-tier fantasy quarterback in general, but he does have seven touchdown passes over the last three games, which is definitely valuable. He’s been just shy of the 300-yard passing mark in the last two games as well.

Of course, when Smith isn't throwing the ball, he'll be handing it off to running back Jamaal Charles no doubt. Charles ran for 93 yards and a touchdown against the Denver Broncos last week. He should be able to cut up the Redskins this Sunday. He has scored three times in the last two weeks and he's the best offensive weapon the Chiefs have in their lineup.

Washington Redskins

Quarterback Robert Griffin III has had his share of ups and downs this season. Early in the year it seemed he was scared to go full speed on his surgically repaired knee. He played better after about a month and looked like he was turning the corner and making a return to fantasy dominance. In the last couple of weeks though, he has regressed. Griffin has just 325 passing yards and an interception to show for in the last two games combined.

With Jordan Reed (concussion) still listed as questionable for Sunday's game, Griffin will have to count on receiver Pierre Garcon to do the bulk of the pass catching. Garcon has been targeted at least 10 times in each of the last six games. He'll be in tough against the Chiefs' Eric Berry this week, but with that level of action, he's still a worthy starter in Week 14.
