Fantasy football projections, Week 14: Seahawks vs. 49ers featuring Russell Wilson, Vernon Davis and Frank Gore

The Week 14 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers should be quite a defensive battle. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks clinched a playoff spot by crushing the New Orleans Saints at home last week. Quarterback Russell Wilson looked like a Pro Bowler and the team's defense was an absolute machine. Together the two forces silenced the normally potent Saints offense. One might think clinching a spot would cause Wilson and the Seawhawks to let their guard down, but Sunday's game against the 49ers can prove once and for all that they can't be stopped. That makes Wilson an intriguing fantasy play this week.

Not only is Wilson worth a look this week, so is running back Marshawn Lynch. Yes the 49ers defense is tough, but the Seahawks may be inclined to call more of a conservative game and avoid pushing their top players for big and risky plays down the field that might get someone hurt. Lynch has played really well of late and since he’ll still get his share of touches, that should continue this week.

San Francisco 49ers

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has had his share of ups and downs this year, but don't tell that to his tight end Vernon Davis. The star pass catcher has touchdowns in four of his last five games, three of which have come in consecutive weeks. Fantasy owners can only hope the progress of Michael Crabtree will continue to open up opportunities for Davis and perhaps give his yardage totals a boost.

If the 49ers are to send a message to the Seahawks on Sunday, they'll need to use the ground game too. Frank Gore is without a doubt the team's workhorse. Gore scored his eighth touchdown of the season last week despite being held to just 42 yards. He will be in for quite a test against the Seahawks. Fantasy owners can only hope he passes with flying colors.
