Seattle Seahawks cornerback Russell Wilson had a so-so game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14. Russell usually makes up for lesser passing numbers by putting up rushing yardage, but the 49ers contained him well, and his day was worse for it.

Russell Wilson had a decent day throwing the football, but couldn’t run against the San Francisco 49ers. We break down the fantasy implications.

Wilson completed 15 of 25 passes for 199 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the 19-17 loss to Seattle’s NFC West rivals. Wilson only had a single official carry, picking up two yards. Wilson had some games in which he struggled nearer the beginning of the season, but seemed to be over that with passing totals of 287, 230 and 310 yards in his last three outings.
Then again, the 49ers are a very good team and it was no surprise to them contain Wilson. His interception came in garbage time, with 30 seconds on the clock on a hail mary pass in which his receiver fell down. Those kinds of interceptions are tough for fantasy owners, though.
Fantasy Impact: Wilson hasn’t been the top fantasy quarterback this season, and might actually be under-performing given his expectations in the passing game. Still, he’s thrown 23 touchdowns to seven interceptions this season and provided he doesn’t throw any more picks in the final 30 seconds of games, he’ll continue to be a solid option for the final weeks of the fantasy season.
