Cam Newton struggles for Panthers, fantasy owners against Saints
Cam Newton struggled against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Newton did manage a touchdown, hitting Steve Smith for a 17-yard strike, but it was in the final six minutes of the game when Carolina was losing by more than three scores. To somewhat salvage his day, Newton did manage to rush for 48 yards on six carries, including a long of 19 yards.
Newton has been solid this season, though he’s thrown for fewer than 200 yards in four games this season, including in three of Carolina’s last five games. Newton has 248 completions for 2,776 yards and 20 touchdowns against 11 interceptions through the air this season. He’s also added 88 carries for 495 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.
Fantasy Impact: Newton has been effective this season thanks to his rushing ability, and he’s worked his way into being a must-start. His performance against the Saints was spotty at best, but he’ll have a couple more opportunities to do good things for fantasy owners before the season is over. He’s a must-start, as always.
