Patriots receiver Aaron Dobson turned his eight targets into two catches for 35 yards on Friday night against the Eagles while fellow rookie Kenbrell Thompkins had four catches for 23 yards on five targets during the team's 31-22 win.
Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell Thompkins raise fantasy stock on Friday night
What receivers are going to catch balls next to Danny Amendola? We may be getting closer to an answer after Friday night. We break down the fantasy implications if Friday’s preseason game.

The two players have no experience, but the have looked good this week in training camp. Dobson has made some impressive catches and he has a prototype feel at 6'3" with plenty of speed to go with a nice vertical jump. Thompkins is a 25-year-old rookie and has shown a good rapport with quarterback Tom Brady to this point.
Fantasy impact: Danny Amendola is the only receiver that's locked into a role. Dobson has been viewed as more of a play-maker while Thompkins is a short-route security blanket. The fact of the matter is that Tom Brady will find the open guy and players getting a lot of snaps in that offense have an excellent chance to put up numbers. These two players are competing for snaps, but with Dobson's higher upside with his ability to stretch the field, he may have the inside track over Thompkins. Both should be drafted in standard leagues.
