Hakeem Nicks (groin) will not play against the Steelers on Saturday night in the team's preseason opener.
Hakeem Nicks sitting out of preseason opener, Rueben Randle’s fantasy value growing
Hakeem Nicks is already missing game and isn’t going to make many fantasy friends this preseason. We break down the fantasy implications.

He’s battled injuries throughout his career, but his Grade 1 groin strain is not considered serious. The team is being cautious with their primary outside receiver and it could be due to his propensity to get hurt. Nicks finished 2012 with just 53 catches for 692 yards and three scores in 15 games last season.
Fantasy impact: Even though it's not a serious injury, it'll be another reason why fantasy owners will see Nicks' ADP take another hit. The good news is that it isn't his knee and Nicks should be considered probable for Week 2's preseason game. Besides Nicks losing steam, red-hot Rueben Randle's stock continues to grow. He's been arguably the most impressive player in Giants camp and he's certainly earning more looks from Eli Manning. Those that want to take the plunge on a high-upside guy like Nicks, may want to hedge that bet with a late pick on Randle. Keep an eye on Randle tonight.
