The 49ers activated running back Kendall Hunter (Achilles) from the PUP list on Saturday.
Kendall Hunter activated from the PUP, could be a fantasy handcuff
Kendall Hunter was activated from the PUP list on Saturday. Does he have enough value to be worth draft? We break down the fantasy implications.

He tore his Achilles in November of 2012 and has been rehabbing through the entire offseason. Hunter turned in a nice 2012, finishing with a 5.2 yards-per-carry average on the season in 11 games. He is expected to be Frank Gore's backup heading into the season.
Fantasy impact: Achilles injuries are very tough to overcome -- especially for running backs. If Hunter is able to give it a go in Week 1, that will give him nine months since the injury, which is right in the middle of the expected rehab of 8-12 months. If he comes back to pre-injury form, Hunter should see a handful of carries while Frank Gore is healthy and he would likely assume the starter's role should Gore miss time. He's a decent handcuff to take late in drafts and this news hurts LaMichael James' value as a runner while he'll be the team's primary return man.
