Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta isn't quite ready to rule out the 2013 season despite his gruesome hip injury. Pitta is visiting Dr. Bryan Kelly in New York City this week for a second opinion, according to FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo. Pitta dislocated and fractured his hip early in training camp, keeping him out for most of the season, but the Ravens are still hoping he can come back late.
Dennis Pitta getting second opinion on hip, fantasy hopes remain slim
Dennis Pitta and the Ravens are still hoping he can play in 2013, but it might be too late for him to help fantasy players this year.

Dr. Kelly is the same specialist who performed surgery on Percy Harvin's torn hip labrum. That procedure went well and the Seahawks expect to have him back around Thanksgiving.
Fantasy impact: The optimism is admirable, but the Ravens appear to be just grasping at straws at this point--Pitta’s injury is way more severe than Harvin’s and will require a lot more rehab time. It’s extremely unlikely he will come back in time to be of any use to fantasy owners.
No matter how this latest evaluation goes, 2013 is looking like a lost year for Pitta. The Ravens will move forward with Ed Dickson and recent signee Dallas Clark. Neither player warrants a draft pick at this moment.
