The Cleveland Browns improved to 2-0 in the preseason with a crushing victory over the Detroit Lions on Thursday, but there was an individual performance worth noting: quarterback Brandon Weeden. For the second-straight week, Weeden made his case to be the team's starting quarterback ahead of Jason Campbell this season, and it's hard to argue with the stats.

Weeden completed 8 of 12 passes for 117 yards with a pair of touchdowns and no interceptions. Both times, Weeden hit Jordan Cameron on touchdown passes in the first half before giving way to Campbell (who, to his credit, threw for over 100 yards and had a touchdown of his own).
There was a lot of talk this offseason concerning Weeden and the new regime in Cleveland. Multiple reports suggested that people within the front office felt Weeden was a waste of a first-round pick, yet here he is making a strong bid for the starting role.
Fantasy Impact: The Browns don’t exactly have a lot of attractive options in fantasy, and Weeden probably wasn’t on any fantasy owners’ radar heading into this preseason. That said, Weeden has been playing well, and the Browns are one of those teams on the cusp of turning things around. Weeden isn’t going to shoot up draft boards by any means, but if he continues to progress, then who knows, he might actually turn into a usable fantasy reserve.
