Patriots wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins got the start next to Danny Amendola on Friday and was targeted four times for one catch and three yards.
Kenbrell Thompkins fantasy bandwagon beginning to fill up
Kenbrell Thompkins started at receiver for the Patriots on Friday. We break down the fantasy implications.

The stat sheet doesn’t tell the story here. Thompkins getting the start speaks volumes about the strides he’s made in training camp and there’s been talk of him establishing a rapport with quarterback Tom Brady. Brady was more focused on Danny Amendola on Friday, so even the lack of catches for Thompkins shouldn’t be viewed as a negative.
Fantasy impact: Simply put, if he’s going to start, he’s going to have value. Brady threw the ball 637 times last season and Thompkins has shown the ability to run all sorts of routes and hasn’t been red flagged for dropping balls.
The undrafted 25-year-old rookie is far from a household name, but he's firmly on the radar as a sleeper pick in fantasy leagues. He's someone to think about targeting after guys like Josh Gordon, Chris Givens and Emmanuel Sanders are off the board.
