In Saturday's preseason action versus the Rams, Eddie Lacy carried the ball eight times for 40 yards and staked his claim to earning lead back duties for the Green Bay Packers.
Eddie Lacy stakes his claim to start for Packers after solid preseason performance
Eddie Lacy led the Packers with eight carries for 40 yards on Saturday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

While Lacy didn't technically "start" the game, he did earn the first carry, and even lined up as the lone back in select shotgun formations. That's a post that many figured would be relegated to fellow rookie Johnathan Franklin or Alex Green, so the fact that the Packers brass wanted to see Lacy in that situation is encouraging.
Fantasy spin: Lacy enters his professional career in a logjam at the running back position, a battle that has had as many as five different front runners over the course of the offseason. Lacy appears to be the long-term answer, and now seems to be making a real push to be the immediate answer as well. While Lacy doesn’t have the highest of upsides amid a pass-heavy offense such as the Packers’, he would be a nice get in the middle rounds at RB3 value.
