The New York Jets seem determined to drag out their quarterback battle as long as possible. When asked about the possibility of extending the competition between Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith until the fourth preseason game, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said "I suppose it's possible...I would much rather got it earlier done than now."
Jets QB competition could extend to final preseason game, perplexing fantasy owners
The Jets may not decide on their starting quarterback until the preseason is over. We break down the fantasy implications.

Smith will be starting in Saturday's game against the New York Giants after missing last week's game with an ankle injury. Sanchez played in the first half of that game, completing 13 of 23 passes for 169 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Fantasy impact: Smith could end up winning this battle if he’s merely competent on Saturday, but the second-round pick doesn’t hold much fantasy appeal outside of Dynasty leagues. Barring a hot start to the season, he’s off the re-draft radar. If Sanchez wins the starting job, well, you already know what to expect from him. He’s not worth a draft pick in any league format.
