New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions. Ben Volin of the Boston Globe noted that he didn't travel with the team.
Danny Amendola out for Thursday game, should fantasy owners start worrying?
Danny Amendola is dealing with an injury and won’t play in Thursday’s preseason game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Amendola is dealing with an undisclosed injury. In true Patriots fashion, the team will not give any details on what he’s dealing with. NFL Network’s Albert Breer says that Amendola just has a “small nick” and that the team will rest him for the final two preseason games.
Fantasy impact: It doesn’t sound like anything major, but Amendola’s health is an obvious concern after missing 20 games in the past two seasons. He’s a boom-or-bust gamble with WR2 upside when healthy.
For now, Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins will get the start against Detroit. Thompkins has been getting huge buzz in camp and has a legitimate chance to win a starting job. He's worth drafting in the late rounds.
