New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley was stifled against the Detroit Lions in the team's third preseason game on Thursday. Ridley carried the ball nine times and only managed six yards, with a per-carry average of 0.7 yards. The Lions gave Ridley no room to work, muscling around his offensive line and stopping him at the line of scrimmage.
Stevan Ridley’s fantasy value still high despite struggles against Lions
New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley struggled against the Detroit Lions on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Ridley had a strong preseason overall, though. He rushed 22 times for 116 yards and a touchdown in the preseason, and will likely sit out the fourth preseason game as he prepares for the regular season. Ridley had a fantastic season in 2012, putting up 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Fantasy Impact: Obviously, fantasy owners want to see Ridley perform well against a defensive front like Detroit’s, but it doesn’t always work out that way. That doesn’t mean that he should be ignored or anything along those lines. He will turn out to be one of the top fantasy running backs and will be drafted relatively high, even if he didn’t put up huge numbers in the preseason.
