Roy Helu, Jr. emerging as premium fantasy football handcuff to Alfred Morris
Roy Helu, Jr. continued his great summer campaign with 91 total yards versus the Bills on Saturday. We break down the fantasy implications.

The incumbent starter, Alfred Morris, has seen limited action all preseason long and did so once again on Saturday, carrying the ball four times for 16 yards. But his primary backup, Roy Helu, Jr., saw the field much more and continued his best summer of his young career. Helu showed great lateral quickness and burst while compiling 91 total yards on 14 touches, and is giving his coaches every indication that he is over a foot injury that sidelined him for nearly all of the 2012 season.
Fantasy Spin: Morris is the prototypical workhorse back, and will continue to see the Redskins' early-down work. However, it's worth mentioning that if Helu had not missed so much time then Morris would not have carried the ball 335 times in 2012. Helu was an important component in the offense before Morris exploded onto the scene, and should find a nice niche in passing downs. If Morris were to suffer an injury, Helu could instantly become a weekly top-12 option, making him a premier handcuff to target along with guys like Ben Tate and Bernard Pierce. Morris remains a late-first/early-second round option, and has greater value in standard leagues.
