The Jacksonville Jaguars have Maurice Jones-Drew locked in as their starting running back. He's recovered from injuries sustained last season and seems to be in shape and ready for the team's regular season opener. But his backup, Justin Forsett, has missed the entirety of the preseason with an injury.
Jordan Todman makes another bid to be Maurice Jones-Drew’s fantasy handcuff
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Jordan Todman had another strong outing in his bid to earn the backup role behind Maurice Jones-Drew. We break down the fantasy implications.

Now that the preseason has wrapped up, Forsett might not even be the backup any longer. Jordan Todman has been excellent thus far, after playing in just one game in his rookie season. Todman might have done enough to take the primary backup role from Forsett. He might just be a desirable handcuff for Jones-Drew fantasy owners, as well.
Todman carried the ball nine times for 60 yards and a touchdown, with a long of 21 yards in Thursday's preseason victory over the Atlanta Falcons. This came one week after carrying the ball eight times for 105 yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.
In all, Todman carried the ball 29 times for 223 yards and two touchdowns, with a per-carry average of 7.68 yards.
Fantasy Impact: The Jaguars signed Forsett to be Jones-Drew’s backup this offseason, but his lack of play in the preseason and Todman’s strong play could have the latter earning the job. Todman isn’t confirmed to be the backup just yet so fantasy owner should beware, but most are of the opinion that he’s done enough to earn it. He might be one of the better handcuff options out there.
