Arizona Cardinals running back Ryan Williams got the start in Thursday's preseason finale against the Denver Broncos. With Rashard Mendenhall sitting the game out, Williams rushed nine times for 25 yards and one touchdown in the Cardinals' 32-24 win over Denver.
Ryan Williams makes final case in preseason game, fantasy value on the line
Ryan Williams got one more chance to make a roster push on Thursday, getting 25 yards and a touchdown as the starter. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Cardinals now have until Saturday to get the roster down to 53 men, and have five running backs on the depth chart. Coach Bruce Arians suggested that Williams has won a roster spot, telling the official site “right now I’d keep all five.”
Fantasy impact: This is the most playing time Williams has gotten since missing most of training camp with a knee injury. The 23-year-old is as injury-prone as ever, and is still running behind one of the worst offensive lines in football. Williams has probably done enough to stay on the roster, but he’s not worth drafting in fantasy this year, not even as Mendenhall’s handcuff.
