The Detroit Lions released their first depth chart of the preseason. Reggie Bush is the undisputed starter at running back, but the depth behind him will be a battle. Mikel Leshoure is currently listed ahead of Joique Bell.
Mikel Leshoure ahead of Joique Bell in first depth chart: Fantasy implications
If you’re drafting Reggie Bush in fantasy this year, it’s worth keeping an eye on who wins the backup job behind him. Mikel Leshoure is currently ahead of Joique Bell in the preseason depth chart, but this can quickly change.

Leshoure rushed for 798 yards and nine touchdowns last season as the main red zone back. Bell mostly worked in passing downs, recording 414 rushing yards but also adding 52 receptions for 485 yards.
Fantasy impact: Preseason depth charts are nigh meaningless, so don’t read too much into this. Bell has been operating as the primary No. 2 back in training camp and looked more impressive than the plodding Leshoure. Don’t expect that to change when preseason starts.
The Lions run the most pass-happy offense in the NFL, and Bell is way better in the passing game than Leshoure. He can be a flex asset in deep PPR leagues. Unless something drastic happens between now and September, Bell is the handcuff Bush owners should target in the late rounds.
