Fantasy longshot Kevin Kolb expected back with Bills on Thursday night
Buffalo Bills quarterback hopeful Kevin Kolb expects to be back with the team on Thursday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Kolb is attempting to keep rookie EJ Manuel from taking the starting spot in Week 1. Kolb, however, suffered a setback earlier in training camp when he slipped on a rubber mat and injured his knee. During a scrimmage on Monday, Manuel (via USA Today) had trouble early with accuracy and communication but improved as the night went along. Kolb was excused from the scrimmage because of the funeral.
Fantasy Impact: Kolb doesn’t figure to factor into anyone’s fantasy plans on Draft Day but it will be interesting to see if Manuel can win the job to open the season. It doesn’t sound like Kolb lost much ground during Monday’s scrimmage.
Manuel has more value in keeper and dynasty formats than in a standard league. Kolb is a fantasy quarterback of last resort.
