New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram has been impressing in training camp, and Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune believes his "fantasy football stock is about to rise."
Mark Ingram’s fantasy stock ‘about to rise’
Mark Ingram is getting the start in the Saints’ preseason opener Friday. He has a chance to become a real fantasy asset this season if his training camp performance carries over.

Ingram is getting the start against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday while Pierre Thomas is sidelined with an undisclosed injury. Triplett thinks he will turn heads if his game performance is as good as he's looked in camp. Ingram rushed for 602 yards and five touchdowns last season while splitting time with Thomas and Darren Sproles.
Fantasy impact: Ingram has yet to live up to the hype since being drafted in the first round in 2011, but he’s also been hampered by nagging injuries in his first two years. Now healthy for the first time in his third NFL season, Ingram has a chance to take the starting job from Thomas.
Running backs are never going to be premium fantasy options in the Saints’ pass-happy offense, but if Ingram improves on his career 3.9 yards per carry, he can be a quality flex play.
