Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson didn't have the best of performances Thursday. The veteran rushed for just eight yards on five carries and caught one pass for no gain in the Falcons' 34-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Jackson played in only nine snaps before making way for backups Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling.
Steven Jackson struggles in Falcons debut, fantasy value remains stable
Steven Jackson didn’t have a great debut in Thursday’s preseason opener, but fantasy owners shouldn’t be so quick to write him off.

The 30-year-old signed a three-year deal with the Falcons in the offseason after spending the past nine seasons with the St. Louis Rams.
Fantasy impact: Is Jackson Michael Turner all over again? Time for fantasy owners to abandon ship? Not quite. It wasn’t a great game, but the Falcons’ offensive line did him no favors. The starting job is still his, and at this point of his career, he has earned the right to take it easy in meaningless preseason games.
The Falcons have big plans for Jackson this year, and he should still have plenty left in the tank after reaching 1,000 yards eight seasons in a row. His Thursday performance shouldn’t do much to affect his 2nd round ADP. Continue drafting him as you normally would.
