Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush left Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals with a knee injury. Bush's left knee collided with the helmet of Arizona safety Tony Jefferson in the second quarter, but the running back did return for the third frame after halftime. Bush fumbled upon his return, however, and exited the game for good.
Reggie Bush leaves game with injury, Joique Bell so-so as fantasy handcuff against Cardinals
Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush left Sunday’s game with a knee injury, and Joique Bell was so-so in relief. We break down the fantasy implications.

Joique Bell ended up taking his place. Bell finished with eight carries for 31 yards and no touchdowns, with a per-carry average of 3.9 yards. Bush finished with nine carries for 25 yards, and a per-carry average of 2.8 yards. Bush managed three receptions for 44 yards, while Bell had five receptions for 41 yards.
Bush said that he’s “not too concerned” with the injury. It’s unclear how serious it is at this point and a clearer picture will be had as the week progresses.
Fantasy Impact: Bell has been considered one of the better fantasy handcuffs, but he had a so-so day in relief of Bush. Of course, Bush didn’t fare better when he was playing, so that’s probably more a testament to Arizona’s underrated defense. Bell remains one of the top handcuff options, while Bush should not be considered a must-start until more is revealed about his injury as practice participation reports start coming out mid-week.
