Later in the game, the Redskins turned to Jordan Reed. Reed caught two fourth-quarter passes, including a 3-yard touchdown reception. That wasn't enough to give the Redskins the win, but he was definitely a more reliable target than Davis, at least at that point in the game.
Reed is considered the No. 3 tight end behind Logan Paulsen, but that may be due to lack of seasoning more than anything else. Reed ended up with 29 snaps in the game, while Davis played just 16.
Fantasy Impact: Davis wasn’t one of the top tight end options in fantasy, but he is a starter for many fantasy owners. It’s likely he’ll get more chances and will be the starter going forward, but if Reed continues to be reliable behind him, then he could quickly end up demoted. Davis was already not a strong fantasy option, and this is just another reason to consider him a red flag.
