Rashard Mendenhall resting on Monday, fantasy value holding steady
Rashard Mendenhall’s absence from practice shouldn’t cause any panic. We break down the fantasy implications.

He's one of the most oft-injured starting running backs and hasn't quite been right since tearing his ACL back in January of 2011. The former Steeler has seen several days of rest all throughout training camp, but there has been no reported setback.
Fantasy impact: Despite the injury concerns, Mendy is in a favorable position with the Cardinals. The Bruce Arians system gets a lot of press for being a pass-happy scheme, but they’re going to need to use a lot of a running game. There is a lot of play-action passes for the QB, so a lack of a running game would limit the way the team can sell it. He’s also lining up in the slot on passing downs, which makes him an intriguing pick in PPR formats.
Mendenhall is a great back to consider once you have your starting lineup full in standard leagues. He does offer risk and owners in deeper leagues can handcuff him with Stepfan Taylor.
