The first two weeks of the season were quiet for Jason Avant, but he made his biggest impact of 2013 against the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. Avant caught five passes for 87 yards and a touchdown, leading the Eagles in receiving.
Jason Avant still isn’t a viable fantasy option
Jason Avant led the Eagles in receiving in Week 3. Does that really mean anything? We break down the fantasy implications.

Avant was targeted eight times by Michael Vick, besting DeSean Jackson and Riley Cooper by a single look. Brandon Flowers did a good job of covering Jackson, leading to more action for Avant.
Fantasy impact: Don’t invest too much stock into this one performance. Avant has games like this every once in a while, and then he returns to his usual quiet self shortly afterward.
Barring an injury to Jackson, Avant should be kept off fantasy radars in most leagues. He’s not even a boom-or-bust player. He’s more of a “once in a blue moon” wideout.
