After suffering a concussion in Week 2 against the Redskins, Eddie Lacy is inactive for Week 3’s matchup with the Bengals. James Starks will start at running back for the Packers.
James Starks has more fantasy value with Eddie Lacy inactive
Eddie Lacy won’t play in Week 3. What does that mean for the Packers’ backfield? We break down the fantasy implications.

John Kuhn is also inactive, leaving Starks and Johnathan Franklin to share the load in the running game. Green Bay is facing a tough Cincinnati run defense that has allowed 62.5 rushing yards per game over the first two weeks.
Fantasy impact: If you loved what you saw from Starks last Sunday, go ahead and forget everything about that game. The Redskins’ defense is porous, and Starks won’t be finding the same kind of room to run against a loaded Bengals defensive line.
With injuries starting to take a toll, Starks could be used as a flex play for Week 3. Don’t expect another explosive performance, though. His best bet for points is finding a short-yardage touchdown near the goal line.
