Fred Davis was added to the Redskins injury report on Saturday, and now he is officially inactive for Week 3’s matchup with the Lions. Davis reportedly injured his ankle in practice.
Fred Davis inactive, fantasy value continues to fall
After two disappointing weeks, Fred Davis is now out for Washington’s third game of the year. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jordan Reed and Logan Paulsen will both see more playing time in Davis’ stead. Reed should be featured more in the passing game, as Paulsen fits the bill as an in-line blocker.
Fantasy impact: For those owners who were excited about Davis at the beginning of 2013, there isn’t much left to feel good about with his situation. Reed has outplayed him over the first two weeks.
Davis was benched in Week 2 after missing several assignments. He played just 16 snaps last Sunday. Reed looks like a decent sleeper at tight end. If you’re hurting at this position, he’s at least worth stashing in deeper leagues. The rookie caught a touchdown last week and should continue to see an expanded role with Davis sidelined.
