San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates caught five passes for 55 yards and a touchdown Sunday. Gates' touchdown was one of only two the Chargers scored, as they lost to the Tennessee Titans, 21-20.
Antonio Gates gets first TD of season for fantasy owners
Gates has stayed healthy through three games, pleasing those who took a shot on him. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gates now has 228 yards on 15 receptions through the season’s three games. Sunday’s score was his first of the season.
Fantasy impact: Gates used to be No. 1 or 2 among all tight ends, losing that position more due to injury than ineffectiveness. Through three games this season, he has stayed healthy and looks more like his old self, which has to give fantasy owners some hope.
The injury concern will probably never truly be gone from Gates, but as long as he's healthy, he is far and away the best option San Diego and Philip Rivers have (no, not Eddie Royal). The Chargers have Dallas, Oakland and Indianapolis in their next three games, three opponents that don't inspire fear in Gates owners. He's a must-start going forward.
